With the world in chaos and our hearts thirsting for relief, there's never been a better time to reach for a bottle of 'awesomeness'. The Soul Juice Band is answering your call with a brand-new album, and you can be on hand for an intimate listening party. This coming Tuesday, Sin City's funk-tastic troupe will head to the Arts District to unveil their self-titled recording project at Taverna Costera. So hold onto your hat and get ready to experience a one-of-a-kind soundscape.
Chances are that, even if you're new to the scene, you've encountered Soul Juice Band's stunning collection of musicians somewhere in Las Vegas. Individually, the members cover Las Vegas with powerful horns, sweeping keyboards, amazing rhythms, and rip-roaring guitar riffs. These guys can be found everywhere from The Space and Kenny Davidsen's weekly Tuscany Resort showcase to Smith Center for Performing Arts. Compelled to fill the world with great music, lead singer David Tatlock and his colleagues pepper the city with a heat that can't be matched. And when they come together, the bliss is hard to handle.
Soul Juice describes itself as a "song-writing band" infused with funk, soul, and a wall of blazing horns. Their original music is drenched in energy, utilizing saxes, trumpets, and trombone to create an unusually powerful signature. Familiar hits take on a whole new meaning when heard through Soul Juice Band orchestrations. Then lead singer David Tatlock takes things even higher with superstar-quality vocals.
"Brand New Day" by The Soul Juice Band (Official)
Members of The Soul Juice Band aren't only great musicians, but many are outstanding vocalists in their own right. Trombone player Kevin Mullinax has recently wowed audiences at Bowtie Cabaret with heartthrob Andrew Diessner and grabbed the microphone at Star Lounge, our Vegas 411 winner for "Best New Bar of 2021".
Trumpet players Isaac Tubb and Lance Aguirre, saxophonists Mark McArthur and Justin Marquis, drummer Jared Leaper, bassman Alan Butterfield and super guitarist Joe Bonasorte (Queens of Rock, MJ: The Evolution, The Bronx Wanderers) join keyboardist/musical director David Rogers in the world-class assemblage of talent. David Tatlock is front and center with his signature hat and harmonica. What they do together is nothing short of breathtaking.
As their following continues to grow, so have the opportunities to entertain larger audiences. This fall, The Soul Juice Band will make its debut at LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL, the epic Las Vegas music, arts, and culture festival. They'll be joining such prestigious names as Calvin Harris, Lorde, and Big Boi in the massive line-up. LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL takes place in Downtown Las Vegas from September 16th through the 18th.
